Boone is currently experiencing its strongest financial performance since becoming independent. Our growth across multiple services has been significant, and now is the time to accelerate our ability to meet growing demand for medical services in mid-Missouri.
Partnering strategically with the right organization will enable Boone to expand services, capabilities, and access points at a faster pace—allowing us to better serve the needs of the 26 counties we serve.
Boone Health has successfully transitioned as an independent system. If a suitable partner is not found, then Boone Health will continue on its current path of expanding services and delivering exceptional care. A key partner value that is being sought is to enable accelerated care offerings and quicker development of new access points. We will achieve continued growth as an independent, but at a pace that can be absorbed by current and future capital plans.
Absolutely. Quality and patient experience are the cornerstone of our identity. We have earned numerous national accolades that recognize the incredible work of our staff.
With the right partner, Boone would be well positioned to further embrace value-based care models through access to timely data, program design expertise, and innovation in patient care. Larger health systems often have proprietary data and best-practice models that enable ongoing care improvements.

The Boone Hospital Foundation exists to support Boone Health in its mission to enhance the health of our communities, through generous philanthropic support. That relationship—and the Foundation’s vital role—will remain unchanged.
The Foundation will continue to be a beloved pillar in mid-Missouri, advancing our collective goal of building a healthier future for generations to come.
If a strategic partner is selected, we would hope to have them identified before the end of the 2025 calendar year with any transition taking place in late spring, early summer of 2026.
Boone Health is committed to keeping our employees and medical staff informed and supported throughout this process. Updates will be shared at appropriate stages of the process. However, due to the sensitive nature of this evolution, much of the work is governed by Non-Disclosure Agreements, which may limit what can be communicated and when. We appreciate your understanding and will continue to provide transparency whenever possible.
Boone Health has been taking actions to expand technology and capacity for care in critical areas, including primary care, convenient care (expanded hours) and specialty care service lines. The ultimate goal of this action is to enhance our care delivery capabilities, as our patients are our primary focus.
As part of our fiduciary duty, we have signed an agreement with Juniper Advisory to help source viable organizations who align with our culture and vision of quality care.
These organizations will be sourced from both in-state and national providers of exceptional healthcare. Due to the nature of this process, we will not be able to share a list of these individual organizations.
