UPDATE: Boone Health visiting with strategic partner finalists

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Boone Health officials continue to make progress in the search for a strategic partner. After receiving written proposals from several organizations, officials are meeting with a small group of finalists.

“We are pleased to have strong, well regarded health systems performing diligence and on-site visits at this time,” said Brady Dubois, president and CEO of Boone Health. “The potential partners all have remarkable reputations for quality and customer service. This phase is important to prepare for final proposals to be submitted toward the end of the calendar year. The goal is to have named a partner by the end of 2025 to allow for exclusive diligence discussions.”

Once a partner is named, Boone Health and the partner will sign a “letter of intent” that will allow both organizations to discuss specific details of what such a partnership would encompass. If those discussions are successful, an agreement could be finalized by early summer 2026.

Boone Health Announces Search for Strategic Partner
A new strategic partner will help with necessary health care expansion for mid-Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. – As the need for key medical services continues to grow exponentially in mid-Missouri, Boone Health President and CEO Brady Dubois announced today that Boone Health, in cooperation with the Boone Hospital Board of Trustees, will begin the process to search for a strategic partner.

“We are dedicated to mid-Missouri. Our people – patients, employees, medical staff and volunteers – are the center of everything we do,” Dubois said. “Finding the right strategic partner will allow us to grow in key medical areas while also ensuring that the quality of Boone Health, which has been nationally recognized, only continues to get better.”

Dubois also said that it was important to note the following:

  • Boone Health is enjoying its strongest financial performance since going independent more than four years ago.
  • Hiring for medical providers and other key areas at the hospital continues. In the past 18 months, Boone Health has hired dozens of medical providers and expects to add 25 more to the organization within the year.
  • Quality, care and the Boone Health culture will not be sacrificed. Boone Health executives will be searching for the right partner, one that recognizes the value that Boone Health brings to mid-Missouri and understands the culture that has led to Boone Health being named as one of the best hospitals for medical care as well as the best environment for employees.

Currently, the expected timeline would have a strategic partner identified by early 2026, with any implementation occurring before the Fall of 2026, Dubois said.

“There has been a significant amount of thought and discussion, and we strongly believe this is the right path for Boone Health and mid-Missouri,” said Jerry Kennett, chair of the Boone Health Board of Trustees. “Additionally, the current dynamics within the health care market indicate this is a good time to take this type of action. However, if we are unable to find the right partner to fit with Boone Health, we have every confidence in the current leadership team and know that Boone Health will continue to be there for mid-Missourians as it has been for the last 104 years.”
