What are Dermal Fillers?

All the Dermal Fillers used at Boone Health Medical Spa are made from Hyaluronic Acid. Dermal Fillers can be utilized in many areas of the face. Dermal filler can improve or eliminate wrinkles, plump tissue, hydrate, replace volume loss and volumize and smooth creases or folds. As the aging process occurs, our skin becomes more susceptible to fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss. Sun exposure, muscle movement, genetic predisposition, and lifestyle can also play a role in the aging process.

Unlike Botox, the results of Dermal Filler are seen immediately after treatment! You begin the healing process which can last anywhere from 3-7 days. Healing times can vary for patients depending on the amount of filler used and the area treated. The product is considered healed and “settled” at approximately 2-3 weeks after injections.

The longevity of Dermal Fillers differs for each patient. Your provider will discuss the average longevity expected for the type of Dermal Filler being recommended during your consultation. Dermal Fillers are not permanent, rather, a temporary solution. To maintain your desired results, treatments will be required on a recurring basis. We recommend planning your treatment at least 2 weeks prior to any event/vacation.
