May Employee of the Month says, “We’re all a big family.”

Administrative coordinator Jessica Basinger says the best part of her job is spending time with her kind and compassionate coworkers.

“Everyone is so good at what they do and is truly passionate about their jobs. I feel very privileged to work with such wonderful people. We’re all a big family,” Jessica says.

As an administrative coordinator, Jessica provides support to the directors and staff of the Cardiac Service Line, Intensive Care Unit, Respiratory Therapy, and Step-Down Unit. She is responsible for tracking employee timecards, education, and mandatories. She also is there to answer any questions employees have about policies, and benefits.

Jessica loves to encourage others who are furthering their education and is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in human resources at Columbia College. “The educational opportunities offered by Boone is one of the great benefits the hospital offers, ” says Jessica.           

Jessica joined Boone 12 years ago after a friend told her about a job opening at the hospital. She says she knew Boone took excellent care of their patients because it had been her family’s hospital. She decided to apply and the rest is history.

Jessica says she couldn’t believe it when she was told she was employee of the month; “I was just so shocked. Everyone here is so wonderful and deserving. I’m honored they picked me.”

When she’s not at work, Jessica enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two teenage daughters. Their favorite pastimes are camping and fishing.

The family lives just west of Ashland and has 3 dogs, 1 pot bellied pig and lots of chickens. Don’t get us wrong though, Jessica is a “girlie-girl” too and owns more than 100 pairs of shoes.
