Boone Medical Group’s Dr. Addison Named Top 20 Under 40
Dr. Addison is an endocrinologist who practices at Boone Medical Group – Diabetes and Endocrinology in Columbia. She treats and manages hormonal issues, like thyroid, testosterone, estrogen, adrenal and pituitary disorders as well as diabetes.
Dr. Addison has called mid-Missouri home for 18 years, beginning with her undergraduate education at Central Methodist University. She then went on to receive her doctor of medicine as well as complete both her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism in Columbia.
The core of Dr. Addison’s approach to medicine is simple, “To know when I don’t know,” she says. “Then I go find the answer or find someone who knows. This is honestly one of the things that makes me an effective physician.”
This approach leads her to an education-based philosophy of care. She enjoys giving people the power to make themselves healthier. “I love to see people happy,” she says. “I love to tell them that they’ve reached their goals, and then feel their sense of accomplishment. It’s so rewarding to make people’s lives longer and of a higher quality.”
In order to give her patients the power and knowledge to improve their own quality of life, she enjoys getting to know them personally. “I really enjoy hearing my patients’ stories about family, trips, or other things that they wouldn’t have been able to do if they hadn’t improved their health,” she explains.
Her patients appreciate her evidence-based approach and her thoughtfulness when it comes to caring for her patients. “Dr. Addison has great rapport with patients and is very thoughtful when it comes to treatment,” one patient says.

In addition to her busy schedule caring for her patients, Dr. Addison and her husband own and operate a local jewelry store, Tucker’s Fine Jewelry and Gift Gallery. This diversity within her roles as physician and business owner led her to be recognized with 19 other leaders and change makers in Columbia.
Even with her busy schedule of patient visit and business decisions, Dr. Addison’s family always comes first. “I look forward to going home and getting loves and snuggles from my little boys,” she says.
