Background
Dr. Thomas Aleto was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended the University of Missouri for his undergraduate training, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. From student to teacher, Dr. Aleto is recognized for his educational courses on Hip and Knee Replacement both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Aleto continued his medical education and orthopaedic residency training at the University of Missouri. A fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction at The Center for Hip and Knee Surgery in Mooresville, Indiana followed after.
In 2006 he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Missouri. In this role, Dr. Aleto specialized in joint replacement and served as a referral source for many orthopaedic surgeons in Mid-Missouri. Dr. Aleto resigned from the MU Department of Orthopaedics in December of 2016 and prior to joining the Columbia Orthopaedic Group in 2018 spent 1 year at the Harry S. Truman Medical Center providing service to our Veterans.
Dr. Aleto is Board Certified and specializes in hip and knee replacement. He has a special interest in partial knee replacement, rapid recovery, and outpatient arthroplasty. He is a member of the American Hip and Knee Society as well as a member of the Oxford Partial Knee Faculty that is responsible for educating surgeons across the nation interested in using the Oxford Partial Knee implant. Dr. Aleto has participated in numerous surgeon educational courses as well as presented on all aspects of hip and knee replacement both nationally and internationally.
