Adoption Assistance

Boone Health offers financial assistance if you use a licensed agency to adopt a child under age 18. A combination of documented expenses, including agency and legal fees and pre-adoption costs are accepted for reimbursement.

Full-time employees (35 hours or more per week) with one year of service, are eligible to receive $5,000 per child. Part-time benefits-eligible employees (at least 24 hours per week) with one year of service, are eligible to receive $2,500 per child.

The financial assistance is not currently subject to federal, state, or local income tax withholding; however, it is subject to social security and Medicare (FICA), federal unemployment (FUTA), and retirement tax withholding. Tax laws and their interpretation are subject to change.
