June is National Safety Month, a fitting time to spotlight Boone Health’s Environmental Services (EVS) Department, a team whose work is essential to safety, infection prevention, and the overall care experience. Every day, EVS helps protect patients, visitors, and staff by creating clean, well‑maintained environments where healing can happen safely.

Safety Starts with a Clean Environment

The Environmental Services team is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment throughout Boone Health for patients, staff, and visitors. Their work includes daily cleaning of patient rooms, ancillary care areas, and high‑traffic public spaces such as restrooms and waiting areas.

In healthcare, cleanliness is more than appearances, it’s a critical component of patient safety. A well‑cleaned facility helps reduce the spread of germs, supports infection prevention efforts, and creates a safe environment for care delivery.
