Boone Health opens new clinic in Glasgow, expanding access with critical health care resources
Boone Hospital Foundation funded the project.
Officials from Boone Health, the Boone Hospital Foundation and the city of Glasgow today celebrated the opening of a new primary care clinic location in Glasgow. With expanded offerings, including an X-ray suite, the new clinic drastically improves the health care resources available to Glasgow and surrounding communities.
“This is how Boone Health lives out the value of having trusted care close to home,” said Brady Dubois, CEO of Boone Health. “It’s an important moment for the health of Glasgow and the surrounding communities. This project came about because of the dedication of the staff here in Glasgow and the commitment of the Boone Hospital Foundation. We’re so excited to be able to open the doors to this new clinic.”
The new clinic allows Boone Health to add a provider and house an X-ray suite. Because of the additional space, providers will perform more procedures, including hydration therapy and skin wound repairs (stitches and/or staples). This will ensure residents have access to timely and critical care.
“Before this clinic opened our doors, patients would have to drive up to an hour for an X-ray,” said Melinda Hart, nurse practitioner. “That stops today. Having the latest X-ray technology here in a rural area will have a crucial impact on the health of mid-Missourians. Being raised in the same town that I now help care for has meaning that is impossible to put into words. I’m grateful to Boone Health and the Boone Hospital Foundation for making the investment for this community.”
“The Boone Hospital Foundation recognized the need to enhance patient care and expand access to advanced medical technology in the Glasgow area,” said Valerie Ninichuck, president of the Boone Hospital Foundation. “During a walkthrough of the old facility, Foundation leaders observed that the space had become too small to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community. This investment will help ensure that patients have greater access to high-quality, advanced healthcare close to home for years to come.”
This expansion is part of Boone Health’s ongoing efforts to bring its nationally ranked care to 26 counties throughout central Missouri. The Glasgow clinic represents the latest milestone in Boone Health’s mission to deliver high-quality, accessible health care to rural populations.
