Nursing Scholarship
The Nursing Scholarship at Boone Health is a financial award up to the amount of $5,000 provided by the Boone Hospital Foundation. The award is paid directly to the college/university in divided amounts for the remainder of the semesters of coursework for the scholarship recipient.
Scholarship Criteria:
- Current student in an associate degree in nursing (ADN) or bachelor’s degree nursing (BSN)
- Interest in part time employment at Boone Health
- Commitment to work at Boone Health as an RN
To complete the application process, submit all of the following electronically using the online application:
- Letter of interest (in essay format) in the Boone Health Nursing Scholarship (no longer than two single-spaced pages). Please address the following:
- Tell us about yourself! Why are you interested in the Nursing Scholarship at Boone Health?
- Tell us a little bit about your nursing program: what semester are you in and how many semesters left until you graduate?
- What skills, abilities, and personal characteristics qualify you over other applicants for the scholarship?
- Tell us about your future career and educational aspirations.
- Copy of current college transcript. This does not have to be an official transcript but must include all grades for each course and your cumulative GPA.
- Resume of no more than 2 pages in length.
- 2 letters of recommendation emailed directly from person providing recommendation to bhcnursingscholarship@boone.health
Your application will not be considered complete until the letters of recommendation are received. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
If selected as a Scholarship Recipient, you will be required to:
- Submit an application for employment at Boone Health, participate in the interview process and obtain employment
- Commit to working at Boone Health for 2 years upon graduation in RN position
- Provide evidence of good academic standing (GPA > 3.0) from your nursing program including an updated unofficial transcript upon request
- Provide information as requested to facilitate payment of scholarship funds directly to school. This will include:
- Providing contact information at your college/university (department name, address, phone number and email address) for where to send payment.
Scholarship is paid directly to the college/university in divided amounts for the remainder of semesters of coursework for the scholarship recipient to cover tuition and associated fees. Any overage will be returned to the Boone Hospital Foundation by the college.
