Patient Care Technician (PCT) Academy
Boone Hospital Center’s Patient Care Technician (PCT) Academy is a perfect way to learn about giving excellent patient care. A PCT performs various direct patient care functions and works closely with a nurse to ensure our patients receive the highest level of personal care. In this academy, you’ll receive both classroom and hands-on instruction in direct patient care to prepare you to be a PCT.
How it works
Our PCT Academy includes a five-week paid training period at Boone Hospital Center. Attendance is mandatory at these training sessions.
After you successfully complete the training, you will be a Boone Hospital Center PCT. There are several options for where and how often you are scheduled to work. This will be coordinated upon your hiring into the position. We will work with you to make sure the schedule meets your availability. At Boone Hospital Center, we have full-time and part-time options.
A Pre-Nursing Opportunity
Our PCT Academy offers a pre-nursing opportunity for students with the interest and ambition to work in a real patient care setting. You’ll get direct patient care experience that can benefit you as you complete your nursing degree at any nursing school.
