The Professional Excellence in Nursing Awards give all Boone Health employees the opportunity to recognize and celebrate outstanding Boone nurses, nursing teams, and partners in caring.
Winners are announced each year in May at our Nurses' Week Celebration!

The Dedicated Boone Nurse Award recognizes a registered nurse who has been a committed employee of Boone Health for 10 years or more. This nurse is an exceptional member of our nursing staff. One recipient is chosen annually for this award.
The LPN of the Year Award recognizes a licensed practical nurse who excels in the art and practice of nursing. One recipient is chosen annually for this award.
The DAISY Nurse Leader award recognizes a director, manager, supervisor, team leader, charge nurse, or nurse navigator who serves as a role model for other nurses and cultivates a culture of compassion and exemplary practice. One recipient is chosen annually for this award.
The Year One Wonder Award recognizes a Boone Health registered nurse who has graduated from nursing school in or after December 2022 and has been with Boone for more than 90 days. This nurse shows promise as an exceptional member of our nursing staff. Two recipients are chosen annually for this award
At Boone Health, quality patient care is made possible with the support of many different health care professionals working together. The Partner in Caring Award recognizes care team members other than registered nurses whose contributions make Boone an excellent place to work and to receive health care. Two recipients are chosen annually for this award.
The Innovation in Nursing award provides recognition for an individual registered nurse who has led an innovative project, process or program that improved a patient’s care or process, implemented a project, or contributed to excellent patient outcomes. One nurse is chosen annually for this award.
Excellence in Nursing Education
The Excellence in Nursing Education Award recognizes a Boone Health registered nurse who excels in creating a learning environment with teaching, mentoring or precepting skills within a clinical or classroom environment. Two recipients are chosen annually for this award.
Excellence in Professional Nursing
Our most prestigious nursing award, the Excellence in Professional Nursing Award recognizes a registered nurse from Boone Health who excels in the art and practice of nursing. Three recipients are chosen annually for this award.
The Nursing Spirit Award recognizes a Boone Health registered nurse who consistently demonstrates outstanding spirit and a positive attitude towards the practice of nursing and provides excellent patient care. Two recipients are chosen annually for this award.
Transformational Leadership in Nursing
The Transformational Leader in Nursing Award recognizes a director, manager or supervisor from our organization who leads by example and is a champion for change and innovation at Boone Health. One recipient is chosen annually for this award
Team Awards
Nominate a nurse-led team for each category
This award is for a nurse-led team at Boone Health that has led or implemented a new project, process or program that improved a patient’s care or a process, contributed to excellent patient outcomes or improved quality outcomes. One team is chosen annually for this award.
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY team award honors the collaboration by a nurse-led team of two or more people at Boone Health that identifies and meets a patient’s or patient family’s needs by going above and beyond the traditional role of nursing.
