Intensive Care
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is designed to care for all critically ill patients. The medical staff, surgeons, and nursing staff are highly skilled and trained. They practice with a patient centered care approach. The ICU has been newly constructed and consists of 32 private rooms in the South Tower, all equipped with the latest technology.
The ICU provides care to those requiring critical care management of medical and surgical services. Surgical services include Cardiothoracic, General, Vascular, and Neurological who have heart surgery, serious brain or spinal cord problems, as well as any surgical patient who requires intensive monitoring post-operatively.
Medical services include Cardiology, Pulmonary, and Renal who may have suffered heart attacks, been treated with angioplasty and placement of coronary stents, or who are being treated for respiratory problems.
The Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery (NICU) is designed for infants who may be ill or are born prematurely and require ventilator assistance. Nursing staff have an average of nine years experience in Level III and ten years experience in Level II NICU. Multidisciplinary discharge planning and individual attention to the needs of each family are hallmarks of this service. Medical care is provided by board certified pediatricians and neonatologists.
